BIRTHDAY CAKE collection 2 - Yew Tree Bakery

It is not easy to work in a bakery and take photos at the same time. It can get a bit messy at times - flour flying everywhere and all that. And there is the time factor - quite often I am under pressure, making orders that have to be done on time, without delay, no time for fun and taking photos... But still I can not resist to bring my cameras to work and get a few shots.... if possible. It is very satisfying to snap the finished cake, believe me, even if it is done very much in a hurry and the image won't win any awards. BIRTHDAY CAKE collection 1 - Yew Tree Bakery

I don't think I can even count how many birthday cakes I have made over the years. I do not have photos of them all either. Only a few. But I decided it is time to make a little display of birthday cakes. This collection is from the time we had the Yew Tree bakery in Oughterard, Co Galway (sadly it closed). I hope someone out there looks at a cake and says: "Hey, That was my cake!! It was a damn good cake!!" I have to divide my post in 3 because otherwise there will be too many photos in one go

Behind the scenes @ The White Gables Bake Off

For those who don't know who I am well, I am the head baker at the WHITE GABLES ;) I am also good at a few other things than baking cakes and breads like writing and taking photos for example. This is my behind the scenes account of the well advertised and anticipated event on the 29th of May 2016 at Enjoy From White Gables in Moycullen, Co Galway, Ireland I did not take direct part in the Bake Off as was originally planned (being a judge) but they managed to squeeze me into the advertising material against my better judgement ;) Usually I avoid being in photos, I am more into taking the photos myself. Here are the fabulous shots taken by Martina Regan Photography and cunningly organised and distributed by Lisa Regan Public Relations . The photos dominated all the papers during May for weeks!!
