My Cookie Christmas tree

Every year I make myself a Cookie Christmas tree. I think it is really attractive and nice to look at and if or when desperate for cookies - it can be eaten!!

 I started the Sourdough starter last May. Finally, it is developing a nice tang and creating some gorgeous loafs.

BIRTHDAY CAKES 3 - Yew Tree Bakery

Here is the last of my collection of birthday cakes from the Yew Tree bakery. 

I never really make the same cake twice, that's the fun of it.

I think I will start on special celebration cakes next.

BIRTHDAY CAKE collection 2 - Yew Tree Bakery

It is not easy to work in a bakery and take photos at the same time. It can get a bit messy at times - flour flying everywhere and all that. And there is the time factor - quite often I am under pressure, making orders that have to be done on time, without delay, no time for fun and taking photos... 

But still I can not resist to bring my cameras to work and get a few shots.... if possible.

It is very satisfying to snap the finished cake, believe me, even if it is done very much in a hurry and the image won't win any awards.

BIRTHDAY CAKE collection 1 - Yew Tree Bakery

I don't think I can even count how many birthday cakes I have made over the years. 

I do not have photos of them all either. Only a few. But I decided it is time to make a little display of birthday cakes.

This collection is from the time we had the Yew Tree bakery in Oughterard, Co Galway (sadly it closed).

I hope someone out there looks at a cake and says: 

"Hey, That was my cake!! It was a damn good cake!!"

I have to divide my post in 3 because otherwise there will be too many photos in one go
